Holiday Home Tour Grand Finale: {Craftberry Bush}

It’s FRIDAY! Which means that it’s time for the big Grand Finale of this week’s Holiday Home Tours here on the blog! I am overjoyed to have the wonderful Lucy from Craftberry Bush as my guest blogger today. Lucy is one of THE most talented folks I have ever known, and to top it off she is also the most beautiful person I have ever met in real life (inside AND out.) This girl is so amazing, and I have cannot wait for you to see her home! Enjoy, y’all!

Hello. I am Lucy from Craftberry Bush and I am so honored

my dear friend Beth has allowed me to share a little bit of my

world with you. I met Beth through blogging a few years ago

and had the opportunity to meet her in person last summer.

If you are ever fortunate enough to meet this gal in person,

you will not be disappointed. Beth is as sweet, kind

and fun in person as she appears to be here on her blog.

Welcome to our humble home, nestled in a small suburb

just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Close enough to the

convenience of a metropolitan city, but far enough that the land

around us is still covered by farm fields…at least for now.

A couple of years ago, we made the decision to paint

our doors black and we are so glad we did.

I especially love how the red pops at Christmastime.

I believe decorating your homes throughout the seasons does not

necessarily have to cost you a lot of money. And that a home should be

infused with all those beautiful things that evoke sweet memories.

I created a simple vignette with these fun coca-cola crates

purchased last year at Walmart. I placed a few of these faux

snowballs my daughter and I made, a couple of pine cones

collected during family walks and some birch logs.

Our home is approximately 9 years old and has an open concept

floor plan. It can be a little tricky to decorate at times as

some of the shared rooms are in large open rectangular spaces.

As soon as you walk in, you step into our little mudroom

and are greeted by a bench/coat rack hubby had built…

I have a lot of fun decorating this space.

Admittedly, it only stays tidy during the day until

the kiddies return from school, when it becomes a drop

zone for backpacks, jackets, shoes and any/everything

else they may have collected throughout the day. In their

defense, it does get cleaned up after they have a snack. 🙂

Christmas time is magical and keeping this white fur rug

clean in this spot would take some Christmas magic..;)

But I really love the red boots look on that white rug.

Onto the living room…

Here’s another simple vignette using some new and old

ornaments and some greenery I had sprayed with fake snow.

One of my favorite things to do is paint with watercolor.

and the pillows you see here are my own designs.

It took me a long time to find the courage to share my art

with others but I finally opened a little shop and the

encouragement and support has been so overwhelming.

This year, I called my Christmas theme ‘the frozen tundra’

and though the name itself does not sound very appealing, the

thought of a beautifully snowy forest sounded dreamy to me.

And so my vision started to come to life…

I knew our flocked tree would be the perfect focal point of my

‘frozen tundra’ theme. I have a secret about the garland, which

you can read about it here. It’s kinda crazy, but I really love it.

There are few things more beautiful than the glow of a Christmas tree in the evening.

This is the opposite wall to the couch/flocked tree.

Hubby also built this sideboard for me last year.

Do you remember me saying our home had an open floor plan?

This is our dining room, which is adjacent to the

living room. I made those trees a few years ago using

cereal boxes and they’ve held up pretty good 🙂

The hutch is also another area I have fun decorating…

It drives hubby nuts that I ‘forgot’ to paint the inside of the door,but truth is, I intentionally left it untouched to remind me of the makeover I had given it after picking it up at the thrift store.

I like to think of it as part of its charm…;)

Let’s go around the corner…

This into our family room , which I find the coziest place in our home.

The frozen tundra theme didn’t make it all the way to this room.

Instead, I wanted to have a rustic and natural looking tree.

You can see all the details of the tree here,but in a nutshell, I used
pine cones, nests, paper feathers and a few handmade ornaments.

I carried the natural and neutral colors down to the gift wrapping as well.

Like I said, I believe you don’t have to spend

a lot of money to make your home beautiful.

The wooden tray and copper pots are thrift store finds.

A little bit of greenery, some pillar candles collected

over the years, pine cones from family walks and

a simple NOEL made out of wire and boxwood.

I want to thank Beth once again for having me and thank YOU for taking the time to visit our home.

It is my hope that among all the hustle and bustle of this

time of year and the beautifully decorated homes we

enjoy visiting, you are able to make time and reflect on

the real reason why we celebrate this beautiful season.

Isn’t Lucy’s style just stunning? I love every single detail of her styling and decorations. Here is a fun fact about this week’s home tours that was completely unplanned, but I noticed it in each post. Every home featured this week has Lucy’s artwork somewhere in a photo. Can you spy them all? I can spot a Craftberry Bush original artwork pillow from a mile away, and all of these blogger’s homes featured a little hint of Lucy’s talent. Which is fine by me, because I believe that every home on this planet needs some Lucy-love sprinkled all throughout it!
