Today is my 31st birthday, and man, I racked up! I have gotten countless well wishes and cards from friends and family. Yall are so sweet!
J’s gifts to me have not arrived but are on order! A friend of mine who is stationed in Afghanistan is having a local jeweler make me a kick ass earring and pendant set from star sapphires that will look like this:
And also a green Amethyst ring (Garrett’s birthstone) that will look like this but nowhere near the cost:
He is also being full time Dad this weekend while I go party it up with my girls in Ohio!!!! Man, this is the best gift of ALL!
When I got to work today my mom and sister had everything all decorated for me. My office looked like it had been rolled!
And I got all kinds of cool gifts!
My dad got me a SWEET card about baby boys and a necklace / earring set in purple amethyst – Garrett’s birthstone again! I cried the ugly cry when I read the card because it was so sweet.
Then he got me another card that said this and I about fell out:
My daddy is so crazy.
I cried the ugly cry again when I opened up a package from my mom.
It was one of those glasses with all the touristy spots from Vermont that we saw on our trip last year.
It wasn’t the glass that made me cry, it was memories of our once-in-a-lifetime trip that got me. We had such a great time, and hopefully one day you’ll hear all about it. It’s on my list of things left unsaid from my pregnancy. It also came with a check for an undisclosed amount.
I got two signs painted in corrugated tin– one says “Welcome to Lake Mitchell” and the other one says “I hope my ship comes in before my dock rots.”
I also got a bar of soap and a set of string lights that are airstream trailers!
I’m such a redneck.
Garrett wished me a Happy Birthday!
And then he worked me out a nice prize in his pants:
All in all it was a great birthday, except for that last part.
Thanks for everything, everyone!!
