It’s official.
Spring has finally sprung.
The yellowbells are in full glory right now. They are just gorgeous this time of year. The rest of the year they are just plain old boring green. But for a few days in the spring they really blaze, huh?
Hope you enjoy these pictures. I had to trespass to get the shots.
Some farmer is still wondering why a crazy person pulled up in his driveway and craned her head out the driver’s side window of her Yukon snapping pictures while driving in reverse like a mad woman.
But hey, when I see a great photo op like this one, I just have to take that risk and go for it.
Also, my apologies for being so quiet around here lately. I’ve been out in the sunshine more, soaking up life and laughter and love and trying to bounce back from a long depressing winter.
Thankfully, that’s not snow on the ground in this picture:
It’s the result of the Bradford Pear trees shedding their stinky yet beautiful springtime flowers and popping out new greenery.
Everything is in full bloom right now, which makes life a lot more enjoyable. I’ve been spending less time on the computer and more time outside with Garrett and J. Today was Easter, and we went down to Granny C’s house to visit with the family and let G hunt some eggs. I’ll post more on that later. It was a great time.
Until then, I just wanted to share some of these pretty sights I’ve been enjoying lately. It’s been nice taking time off from blogging and trying to focus on getting happy again.
Camelias make me happy.
And so does this little boy right here.
He is at such a fun age right now. He’s talking up a storm and keeping me entertained for hours. He tells me stories about his toys. He sings along with me in the car. He falls asleep in my arms every night since we instituted a new “no cry” rule for bedtime. This morning I sat in the porch swing and watched him run around the back yard chasing Gus and Woodrow. He would count to five and throw sticks and rocks for them to retrieve. They are retrievers, after all. Too bad they get bored with that game easily.
This evening we sat on the back porch together and watched the sun go down while J finished up some much needed pressure washing around the house. Garrett pretended to feed the dogs treats from his sandbox. He told them to “Sit!” and “Down!” but then he ran and jumped in my lap whenever they came sniffing around his diaper. He talks a big talk but in reality they still outweigh him by about 50 lbs apiece. Their wagging tails are eye level with him, which means he still runs to me to pick him up whenever they get too close for comfort.
I don’t complain.
Holding him in my lap while he collapsed in a fit of giggles because Gus sniffed his ear is just what the doctor ordered. It doesn’t get much better than that.
I hope to be back soon with some updates!
So beautiful! Welcome Spring indeed!
