Today we’re talking about trash-to-treasure with the awesome Miss Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage. Shannon has a knack for turning some of the most basic household items into beautiful decor items. I’m happy to have her here kicking off this second (and final) week of guest posts. Please head to Shannon’s site to pin any of these trashy projects!
Hi Unskinny Boppy readers!
I’m Shannon and I write and share at
Fox Hollow Cottage. Beth was sweet enough to let me come over today and hang out with you, so I brought along something of mine to share with you while I’m here.
If you have a recycling bin ready to go out. Hold off!

I have had lots of fun making quick crafts and casual home decor accents with tins cans, bottles and glass that would normally go into my recycling bin, and you can too!
All it takes is a little paint, some scrap fabric, maybe some burlap… or some broken jewelry.
This creations can hold flowers, be used to hold make up brushes, craft supplies and just about whatever you can think up!
They are super versatile too and are easy to change-up from season to season.
I hope you take a different look at your “trash” now. It can be made into some pretty cute stuff with a little time!
Thanks for having me Beth!
I hope your readers liked my trashy ideas 😉
If you did… stop by and see me some time.
I love to visit, chat and share!

I found a free box last summer at the end of a neighbors driveway. It had old bottles in it so I took a couple and put them on my counter with the cans I was going to use to copy Shannon. It sat for too long and I can tell ‘ya for a fact that before it gets turned into the treasure it looked like the trash part sitting on my counter. So I moved it to a box in the garage and put a note on the cans DO NOT THROW AWAY. In tin can life – 5 months makes them vintage.
