Homecoming week is here! Do your kids ask each other to the dance with a big, fancy HOCO proposal or is that just an Alabama thing? My son’s girlfriend is a big Hello Kitty fan, so this year he went with a Hello Kitty themed Homecoming proposal.
He made a poster that said “Would you be My Melody at HOCO?” and a gift basket with all sorts of Sanrio goodness like My Melody stuffies, lip balm and a Sanrio friends blanket. As a super special cherry on top, we made her a special Hello Kitty themed drink using marshmallow fluff inside of a clear Starbucks style cup. We drew the classic Hello Kitty face using a Sharpie on the outside for an extra cute custom drink. I don’t have any pics on the receiving end at her house because I am not gonna be that mom stalking him from the bushes, but he told me that she loved it!
How to make a Hello Kitty Chocolate Chai Latte
This fun drink doesn’t just have to be for Homecoming! It would make the perfect gift for any Hello Kitty lover in your life, or drinks for a Hello Kitty themed birthday party. Here are a few optional ideas:
- If you want to cut back on some of the sugar, you can use the Tazo Skinny Chai Latte concentrate.
- To make it extra special, use a Starbucks style clear plastic cup with a domed lid and add whipped cream on top.
- Get creative and add fun toppings like whipped cream and pink sprinkles on top, or dip the edge of the cup in caramel and sprinkle with pink sanding sugar.
- Maybe drizzle strawberry, caramel or chocolate syrup around the inside of the cup for added color.
- Add a pink heart-shaped silly straw for a little extra love.

Hello Kitty Chocolate Chai Latte Recipe (Cinnamoroll approved)
Equipment
- 1 Clear plastic cup or glass
- 1 black & pink sharpie marker
- 1 spoon
- Silly Straw optional
Ingredients
- 8 oz Tazo Chai Latte concentrate
- 8 oz milk of choice (I used Oat Milk)
- 1 TBSP Marshmallow fluff
- 2 TBSP Chocolate Syrup (I used Ghiradelli Chocolate Sauce)
Instructions
- Using the back of a spoon, smear the inside of a clear plastic cup or glass with marshmallow fluff. Try to make it oval shaped to resemble Hello Kitty's face.
- On the outside of the cup, draw two black dots for eyes, wide apart.Add an oval for a nose between the eyes, then draw three lines for whiskers on either side of the eyes. Draw a cute bow and color it pink.
- Fill cup with ice (I used nugget ice), then pour over the chai latte concentrate and milk.
- Serve immediately!
