I just found this on our local weather blog when I was searching for a Doppler radar of the storm we avoided. This is an actual report from Friday when Nat and I were on the road.
Here was our intended route:
Ok, now look at this. I-49 was the interstate that we were supposed to take through Alexandria on the short route to Dallas. The tornado touched down at 4:19 pm, which is right around the time when we should have been driving through there.
3/27 16:38:31 LCH: 1 SW Gardner [Rapides Co, LA] law enforcement reports TORNADO at 04:22 PM CDT — Rapides sheriff deputy reports tornado touchdown on hwy 121 with trees and power lines down. cars off the road.

Thank you God for getting us around this one. Wow.
