For 72 years this world was blessed with the radia

For 72 years this world was blessed with the radiant smile and witty humor of Barbara Cain, our sweet mama and the best Grandma our babies could ever hope to have. She passed away on Friday, January 27th at exactly 3:00 am, with Dad and us at her side. She spent her last day dropping one-liners that made us all roar with laughter, saying goodbye to her loved ones and softening the hearts of her healthcare providers.

The amazing nurses in the Shelby MICU told her that she was the funniest, toughest and bravest soul they had ever had the pleasure of witnessing go to her death. I’ve never seen so many nurses cry over the loss of a patient.

There were tears and laughter but most of all lots of love. She was the driver of her own boat and made each medical decision with calm grace and peaceful acceptance for what was best for herself. She was able to choose her own adventure right to the very end.

She loved all of her family with an unmatched fierceness , but especially her three grandbabies. Please keep Riley, Garrett and Caroline in your prayers as they now have to go through life without their Grandma just a FaceTime or a driveway away.

Thank you to everyone who loved our mama. We appreciate you all. Thank you for prayers for us and our Dad as he begins navigating life without his partner of 52 years.
