My husband turned 30 years old this weekend.
He asked for a big cookie instead of a cake.
Ask and ye shall receive around this joint. Except now that my friend Leslie posted this blog entry about how to make the perfect homemade big cookie using only 4 ingredients, I probably won’t be buying any more cookie cakes.
Confession, I didn’t buy the candles. His coworkers brought him a cake to work, and these were the candles that came with it. I loved them, so I used them again. I’m a repurposer like that.
I also recycled the party decor they used to decorate his cubicle. Because I’m a slacker wife who forgot to buy my own. Thank goodness for coworkers, huh?
Here are the only two remaining photos that I took from this day.
My mom, Eileen and crazy Uncle Dave acting a fool.
And J and his dad sitting with their socks in the exact same position, discussing his dad’s recent Home Depot shopping spree.
I meant to get a family photo of the three of us on his birthday, but somehow my brain farted all day and I totally forgot. I don’t even have a picture of Garrett from that day at all. Boy, I’m really losing my touch. Instead I will recycle this one taken last week and we can all pretend this was us on his birthday.
Since I’m so good at recycling and all.
Happy birthday, J! Hope it’s a good one!
