Note: If you wanna read this GTG recap from the beginning, start here, then go here and you’ll be all caught up!
Saturday morning arrived and so did the rain. Not surprising because it’s been raining here since September.
Of last year.
After all the drought we have had over the past few years I cannot complain, although I was a little bummed that I couldn’t take this group down to the lake and sling them around on an inner tube behind the boat.
Kent had to leave us early that day to go to a family thing, so we recruited my neighbor to snap this group photo early on Saturday. It was sprinkling on us as this picture was made, and within 15 minutes it was pouring buckets.
If you happen to be a way-back oldtimer Nestie, you might recognize some of these names.
Back row L to R: egrwifey, Peach&Fireworks, Natalie102503
Middle row L to R: alygator, TheBryansWeBe, merrygirl
Front row L to R: halfofvamh, G&D, stephm0188,
And up front is mrswilliamsin05.
How cool is that?!?
From there we split up into three carloads and headed out to find some lunch.
We wound up at Eclipse Coffee and Books in Montevallo. If you’re looking for a nice little comfortable lunch spot in Shelby County be sure to check ’em out.
They have Yoohoos!
And a really cool wraparound porch with nice transom windows. Love it.
At Eclipse we did some of this
And some of this
And lots of chilling out and talking about randomness. As we left Eclipse the bottom fell out again and it was raining so hard we could barely see the road in front of us.
Since we were all in our swimsuits and prepared to go to the lake, I made an executive decision to take them to my parent’s house because they have a swimming pool with a sunroom built over it.
So this is where we spent our drizzly, foggy afternoon.
Thank you mom and dad for letting us crash your house on such short notice!
And if you notice that your fall decorations were a little bit askew after we left, we don’t know anything about it.
Nope. Nothing at all.
Finally the rain slacked up for a minute and we were able to take some pictures by the lake.
I am not even going to ask Dusty’s permission if I can post these on my blog because I don’t want to hear the answer if it is no. I’ll beg for forgiveness later.
Check out this glowing beauty. Isn’t she the most beautiful pregnant woman you’ve ever seen?
Hi sweet little baby girl!!
We tried taking another group picture with our timers and here is the best of that bunch.
After that we were totally sad because Kent had to leave us. So we all said our goodbyes to her and she headed out.
Bye bye Peachy! We will miss you!
From there we went back to my house to get ready for the wild Alabama Saturday night that was to ahead.
Trust me, you don’t wanna miss it
Stay tuned.
I recognize these ladies! So great that you all get together. 🙂
