Note: If you wanna read this GTG recap from the beginning, start here, then go here and then go here you’ll be all caught up!
Saturday night we got all gussied up for a night out on the town.
Kelly made us pose like Dusty, so here is our gallery of poses. This cracks me up.
Here is a sight you will likely never see again–a straight haired Natalie! She’s got the most beautiful naturally curly hair, but on this night the girls spent hours blowing it out, straightening it and then re-curling it. Isn’t she gorgeous?
Here are some crazy girls getting ready in Garrett’s tiny bedroom.
Lookin’ good ladies!
Then we all headed out to our local Japanese Benihana-type restaurant.
We checked out the drink menu and had a hard time deciding what to get. Should we get a Coorslighr? Or maybe some white zinfand? No, I think I’ll have a but light.
Then we took the requisite group photos around the table. Here is Allison, me and Natalie.
Across from us was Emily and Aly.
And in the middle sat Dusty, Steph, Kelly and Merry. It was Dusty’s first trip to a hibatchi style restaurant.
And then the fire began!
Our poor chef was so nervous. I like to think he was dumbfounded by all of our beauty.
He asked us how we all met each other. For some reason he didn’t believe it when I told him that I was Mormon and they were all my mail order brides from the internet. When we told him our actual story, he said that he expected to see us on tv one day telling our unique story of how we all met. Hear that Oprah? Give me a call and I’ll tell you all about it!
He dropped a lot of eggs and fumbled with food quite a bit, but he was a really nice dude nevertheless.
Some of us tried to catch some food in our mouths. Check out the broccoli flying through the air. It looks like it’s right on track to land in Emily’s mouth.
FAIL.
Ah well, she still has her fruity drink and but light to sip on instead.
There aren’t any photos of it, but he squirted this giant shot of saki right into my mouth and WHOA! That stuff had a kick!
It was a great dinner, and then it was fortune cookie time!
DOAS read her fortune.
And apparently I was very excited about mine. Or maybe it was that saki.
After we left the restaurant, I decided to give these lovely ladies a taste of some good old fashioned Southern culture.
We went to the local community center where they have the Pure Country Dance every Saturday night from 8-11 pm. It turned out to be the perfect place to go, because it was smoke-free for our expectant mama-to-be.
Here is the Pure Country Dance band.
The looks on everyone’s face when we walked through the door was priceless. The locals were staring at us like we had two heads, and a few of the out of town girls were a little bit unsure at first I believe.
For a minute we were sad because we didn’t have any partners.
And then along came Ralph.
Ralph swooped in and made us all feel right at home!
Ralph asked all of us to dance, and we kindly accepted.
We all enjoyed dancing with him.
And he thoroughly enjoyed dancing with us!
By the end of the night, Ralph was throwing his hands up in the air and yelling “Woooooooooo!”
Video 25, originally uploaded by meezealeeze.
I think we made Ralph’s night.
Possibly his whole year.
I think he wanted to take Natalie home with him. Watch out Joe!
And when we weren’t dancing with Ralph, we were cutting a rug with the other locals.
Or electric sliding to “Elvira” by the Oak Ridge Boys. Giddyup, mmmmboppa, mmmmboppa, meow meow.
Or square dancing.
Allemande left and dosie-doe.
Swing your partner two and fro and all that.
And when nobody else would dance with us we just danced with one another.
Which was kinda hard considering neither of us knew how to lead.
But it didn’t matter, because we were having a blast!
When the last song was played at the end of the night, we had all decided that we had not had so much fun in a long time.
Aly said best– it was the best $4 cover charge I’ve ever spent. Especially without any alcohol involved. Well, except for that shot of saki.
Thanks to Ralph, and the Pure Country dance band, and all the other locals who gave us such a memorable night out!
We had a blast!
This was seriously one of the best nights of my life! I love us :wub
Looks like y’all had a blast! FUN!
