Last week was spent moving into our new office building. Moving is one of my least favorite things to do. I can’t really think of anything I despise more than moving.
But there is one tiny detail about moving that I do love.
Decorating my new office!!
My old furniture looks SO great in the new place. And check it out, I even got a window overlooking the playroom where I can watch Garrett and Grandma hang out and play on their iPhones.
Here are the current little doo-dads on my desk. Not sure how much will stay and how much will go…
My favorite picture frame ever is that green one up top with the family portrait in it. I bought it for an insane amount of money at a side of the road shabby chic place in Destin. When I splurge on something like that and I love it for years, I know it was a good purchase.
The room is not completely finished, and I’m still trying to decide if certain pieces work well together. Like I sit at my desk and wonder if this tin ceiling tile piece is overpowering above my lateral file?
Hmm.. WDYT? In this photo it seems huge.
But for the size and scale of the room, I believe it works.
I also need to find a slipcover or re-upholster this chair. The search is on for the right fabric. I’m still debating about curtains and other wall hangings. I don’t want anything that weighs the room down too much so this is a hard decision. I’m sure I’ll get it all figured out soon.
But here is what I really wanted to show you! My new favorite wall decor– an undrilled door turned photo display!
I bought this unfinished door at a local overstock home center place. The door handle has not been drilled out yet, which made it even better for my intended use. And the best part?? I got this piece for just $19.95!!
Once I eyeballed where I wanted the picture frames to hang, I hammered in two photo hangers and hung the picture frames on the door and that was it!
Super easy, right?
The photo frames came from Hallmark, a gift from my husband on my first Mother’s Day. Love them. But shame on me, I need to get this generic (but very cute) picture replaced with one of my own.
I’m proud of this little display. It makes me happy. I love the simplicity of this piece.
Not only because it was simple to create, but the clean lines make me happy.
I need more clean lines in my life.
Very clever – but what I’m really drawn to is the photos and frames you’ve got on the door, those are beautiful!
I think the tile works well. The first picture does make the scale seem HUGE, but the second picture of the overall space looks great! I LOVE the door! That’s so smart. I never would have thought of that, but it’s beautiful and I love the clean lines as well!
LOVE your new office! I’m just crazy about your furniture and I think the ceiling tile looks great over the cabinet! Good job, Beth!! I think I need some (or lots) of your good taste at my house!! 🙂
That is a fantastic space you’ve got, and it looks calm and inviting!

Your office is GORGEOUS!!!! I would be SO productive in there!
I love the ceiling tin tile right where it is. Now I want one 😉
Love the new office. The door is really neat. I think the tin overpowers the space. 🙂
Love t he furniture! Where did you purchase it?
Cute idea! Beautiful office!
I ADORE your office! Oh it’s so gorgeous! I just love every single bit. I’m so snagging that door photo idea too…once I find myself an undrilled $20 door. 🙂 I have some of those frames too – the white one with a different saying though. And I purchased the black one for my sister as part of her wedding gift. Did you get yours at Kohls? Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks so much everyone for your sweet comments! I do feel much more productive these days. 🙂
@Pamela- the furniture was purchased a few years ago at Haverty’s.
@Mandi – the photo frames came from Hallmark, but I bet they eventually made it to Kohls. 😀

Hi superb blog! Does running a blog similar to this require a massive amount work?
I’ve absolutely no expertise in computer programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, should you have any suggestions or techniques for new blog owners please share.
I understand this is off subject nevertheless I just had to ask.
Thank you!
