I’ve been MIA lately.
I have just two words as my excuse–Spring Break.
We’ve just returned from five glorious days of 73 degree sunny perfection on the Gulf coast in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
This trip was MUCH needed for our little family. We had an excellent time. We hit all of our favorite spots in Destin, Panama City Beach and all along 30-A. Shopped, ate, drank.
Relaxed.
Watched an outdoor movie.
Read smutty magazines.
Jumped waves.
Built sandcastles.
Put inappropriate hats on our 4 year old and uploaded pics to facebook.
Belly laughed.
Played Frisbee on the beach and in front of our cute little rental cottage.
Everyone was happy.
And we finally broke our somebody-gets-sick-at-the-beach curse that has plagued us for many years now. Aside from a sunscreen rash on my uber-sensitive skinned little boy, all was well. Glory Hallelujah!
Regular home-y type posts will resume soon, I promise.
Just let me get unpacked and caught up on my 57 games of Draw Something that I started at the beach.
It takes a wholelotta iphonehours to draw perfect depictions of OutKast, Britney and Snooki with just one finger!
ha! I literally LOL’d at the draw something picture! That game is super addicting! Glad you had a nice vacay. The beach looked beautiful! Welcome back 🙂
I love that you play! Find me … Grass_stains, of course. I also started a new blog at http://www.drawsomethingawesome.blogspot.com to showcase some of the “finer” drawings I’ve come across (or drawn myself). I’d love for you to visit!
Glad you had so much fun on spring break … Looks beautiful, and the photos were wonderful.
Great pictures! Makes me want to go to the beach!
Oh, it looks like you had a wonderful time! I think that the beach is the best place to unwind and regroup for sure! You and your family look so happy and that little cottage looks lovely – did you take any photos of the inside?
mmmm…jealous….especially of smutty magazine reading time….
…and photos are beautiful…and you guys look all warm and windswept…yeah jealous…
I love Santa Rosa Beach. One of our favorite family spots! Glad you got a break and had some fun.
Would you mind telling the website or information about the cottage? It looks adorable and we are always looking for great new places to stay when we visit Florida!!
@Christine- I know, right? It’s so addictive and SUCH a time waster. I love it and hate it.
@Katherine- That’s awesome you created that site! There are some fantastic ones on their fb page. People gots skillz.
@Sydni- Everyone needs to go to the beach. And often. 🙂
@Heather- I took some cell phone pics of the interior. It was pretty! Pottery Barnish. 🙂 I’ll upload to my UB fb page.
@Amy- Smutty magazines are to the beach what peanut butter is to jelly. Come on down sometime! The water’s fine. >:)
@Beth- Love 30A area. The only downside is that everyone else does too, now. 10 years ago it was deserted but it’s getting very crowded down there nowawdays. Still not as bad as some places, though!
@Anonymous- Our cabin was in Old Florida Village in Santa Rosa Beach. It was a LONG way from the beach (we had to drive), so if you want something walkable you might want to check out Old Florida Cottages which are closer and just as cute! 🙂 Here is the link to ours: http://www.findrentals.com/15907.html
And here are the links to others in Old Florida Cottages that are closer to the beach. None of these are beach front, though: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/north-west/beaches-of-south-walton/santa-rosa-beach/old-florida-cottages
So jealous.
But happy for you!!!
It looks beautiful.
And it’s okay…because we’re going next week. Surely I can wait 8 days…
Looks like you had a great vacation! Your rental was very cute but so were your pics on the beach of your family. I just started playing draw something last night and it’s so fun! Your picture made me laugh, thanks!
so so beautiful! What a great vacation was had by all! And your little boy is precious!
Love the beach! We are stationed in EL Paso now, and no beach in sight!! I miss the coast, and we will be retiring to FL in about 5 years. Well, moving. We are in our 30’s so retiring from the Army to pursue our next thing. (I say “we” like I am in, I am just a spouse LOL!) Anyway, your photos are gorgeous! Glad you had fun!!
I love the beach. It’s so relaxing. I’m a Seattle girl so I hit the Washington and Oregon coast yearly. I’m so glad your family had a good time. I always check your blog but first time commenter. Glad your back!
I know this is a super old post, but I just found your blog via YHL. Your blog is awesome! And that is some super impressive drawing of outkast haha
