If you need a last-minute Easter card that looks like you spent way more time on it than you did, this is the one.

This free printable Easter card features a “Some Bunny Loves You” message with a colorful 3D pop-up egg on the front that actually pops up when you open it. It looks completely handmade and one-of-a-kind because it is — and the whole thing takes about 10 minutes once you download the template.
I made a video showing exactly how to assemble it because the 3D egg part is one of those things that makes zero sense from written instructions but is totally obvious once you see it done. Trust me on this — watch the video first.
What’s Included in the Free Download
The download includes everything you need to make the complete card:
- The “Some Bunny Loves You” card front and interior
- Printable Easter egg templates in multiple colors and patterns
- Step-by-step assembly instructions
- Video tutorial link for the 3D pop-up egg technique
Print it on regular cardstock for the best results. Regular printer paper works but the card will feel flimsy — cardstock makes it feel like something you actually bought at a store.
What You Need to Make This Card
The supplies list is short and most of it you probably already have:
- Cardstock — white or any light color works. I used this pretty floral paper for the outer wrapper on mine which gave it a really finished look.
- Scissors or an Exacto-style craft knife — scissors work fine, a craft knife gives cleaner cuts on the egg edges
- Bone folding tool (optional but helpful) — makes the fold lines crisp and clean
- Glue stick or double-sided tape — for assembling the 3D egg
- Printer — color printer gives the best results
Getting the 3D egg to pop-up correctly is not hard, but it helps if you see how to create it instead of reading instructions. The first time I tried, I failed miserably, so be sure to watch the video to get it just right! 🙂
How to Make the 3D Pop-Up Easter Egg Card
Step 1: Download and Print
Download the free template using the link above and print on cardstock. For the egg pieces, printing on slightly heavier cardstock than the card base gives the 3D element more structure and makes it pop up more dramatically.
Step 2: Cut Out All Pieces
Cut out the card base, the egg halves, and any decorative elements. Take your time on the egg — the cleaner your cuts, the better the finished card looks. A craft knife and cutting mat gives the crispest edges if you have them.
Step 3: Score and Fold
Using a bone folder or the back of a butter knife, score all fold lines before folding. This prevents the cardstock from cracking along the fold and gives you sharp, clean edges.
Step 4: Assemble the 3D Egg
This is the step you need to watch the video for. The technique involves folding each egg half in a specific way so that when the card is closed the egg lies flat, and when the card is opened the egg pops up in 3D. It sounds complicated but takes about 60 seconds once you see it done once.
Step 5: Write Your Message and Sign
Add a personal note inside the card. The “Some Bunny Loves You” is printed on the front but the interior gives you space for your own message. Sign it, slip it in an envelope, and you have a completely handmade Easter card that looks like it came from a boutique stationery store.
Tips for the Best Results
Use cardstock, not regular paper. This is the single most important tip. Regular printer paper makes a floppy card that doesn’t hold its shape. Cardstock at 65lb or higher gives you a card with real structure.
Watch the video before you start. I tried to do the 3D egg from written instructions the first time and failed completely. The video makes the whole thing obvious. Two minutes of watching saves ten minutes of frustrated folding.
Make several at once. Once you have the technique down, batch-making these goes quickly. Print multiple copies and assemble an assembly line. Great for classroom Valentine’s — I mean Easter cards, school parties, or sending to multiple family members.
Add an envelope for a polished finish. A standard A2 envelope fits this card perfectly. A few pretty envelopes from the craft store elevate the whole presentation significantly.
FAQ — Free Printable Easter Cards
This Easter card printable is just $1. Click the download link above to purchase and your printable PDF will download immediately. Print as many copies as you like for personal use — one purchase covers your whole family.
The card template is designed to print on standard US letter size paper (8.5 x 11 inches). Print at 100% scale — do not scale to fit or the proportions will be off.
You can, but cardstock gives significantly better results. Regular paper produces a card that feels flimsy and doesn’t hold its shape as well. Cardstock at 65-80lb weight is the sweet spot for printable greeting cards.
A color printer gives the most vibrant results for the Easter egg design. If you only have a black and white printer, the card still works — you can color the egg by hand with markers or colored pencils for a fun personalized touch, especially for kids.
Once you’ve watched the video and printed your template, assembly takes about 10 minutes per card. The first one takes a little longer while you get the hang of the 3D egg technique. After that, subsequent cards go much faster.
Older kids ages 8 and up can make this card with minimal adult help. The cutting step requires supervision or adult assistance for younger children. The folding and assembly is manageable for most kids once they’ve watched the video.
